How to Make Thanksgiving Yummy & Safe For Your Dog

Want to share Thanksgiving and Holiday event foods with your dog? Great! Just be safe. Sometimes things on the table contain ingredients that are harmful to them. So it is good to be aware, and plan ahead. Below is a general guideline to use when trying to decide what they can't and can eat. Foods that are safe to eat:
  • Turkey
    • White meat only
  • Corn
    • But no cobs
  • Green Beans
    • Just the beans
  • Mashed potatoes
    • No fat, no salt
  • Apples & pears
    • No seeds
  • Sweet potatoes
    • Plain, not candied or yams
  • Brussels sprouts
    • Cut and cooked
  • Bread
    • No butter
  • Pumpkin
    • No sugar or spice
  Foods that are NOT safe to eat:
  • Gravy
  • Stuffing
  • Butter and fats
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Pie
  • Nuts
  • Garlic, onion, scallions, chives
  • Chocolate
