With Memorial Day Weekend upon us, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on those who have fallen for our country. As a veteran-owned business, we think it’s important to do so.
In honor of Memorial Day, we wanted to highlight
two charities that make a difference to both veterans and dogs, and in some cases, veteran dogs! Part of our mission is giving back to veteran organizations so a portion of all of our profits go to these causes.
About Save-a-vet
One of the charities that we donate to is
Save-a-Vet.org. Save-a-vet helps rescue retired Military and Working dogs.
“Save-a-vet takes Military & Law Enforcement working dogs deemed unsuitable for adoption by their agencies for a number of reasons including health, training and work history. We then place them in secured facilities owned by Save-a-vet throughout the country and hire disabled veterans that meet our special criteria to live with and care for these other forgotten soldiers.”
When working dogs retire, some have health, behavioral, or other issues that make them hard to adopt. Often times, these dogs are put down. However, Save-a-vet helps rescue these retired working dogs and places them in a caring location with disabled veterans.
How you can help Save-a-vet
Save-a-vet is currently looking for people with backgrounds in building trades to help them build their new facility in Peru, Indiana. More information on that project and other ways to get involved can be found here:

About Warrior Dog Foundation
The second charity that we donate to is called the Warrior Dog Foundation. The Warrior Dog Foundation helps to care for special operation K-9s.
“The Warrior Dog Foundation was founded by Mike Ritland as a place for retirement and rehabilitation of retired Warrior K9s slated to be euthanized. We provide a rare sanctuary of last resort and as a result, our retired K9s often stay with us for many years, and some live out their lives with us.
Once these retired K9 Warriors have completed their service and for whatever reason, are unable to continue on with their handler, the Warrior Dog Foundation helps transition them from an operational environment into our state-of-the-art kennel facility in Texas. We then ensure the care of each individual K9 with dignity and grace, including both mental and physical rehabilitation for the rest of their lives.”
